Welcome to my website

kim_water

Hello, my name is Kim.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and facilitator in Process Work or Process-oriented psychology.  I also have a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with children and adolescents from the Northern Guild Psychotherapy. I am UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) accredited.

Since qualifying as a process worker in 2009,  I have worked as a psychotherapist and facilitator in the LGBT centre in Edinburgh. I worked 8 years at Wellspring counselling and psychotherapy centre which offer therapy for people on different economical incomes. Within the ‘children in need’ project, I was pleased to work with kids in school as I was a teacher for over 18 years, and very happy to see counselling cultures in the school context.

Growing up as a white, middle class, lesbian woman, I endeavour to make my practise as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

I have a lot of experience of working with young adults, exploring their choices in life with a sense of purpose and direction. I am fascinated by our connection  between body/mind and how this plays out in relationships. I have alopecia, a condition associated with hair loss. This chronic condition has increased my awareness of how appearance impacts our lives.

I have a keen interest in eco-psychology, in exploring our connection to the Earth and how this can deeply sustain us.

Please take time to explore my website where you can read more about Counselling and Psychotherapy, Process Work, and the one to one sessions and workshops I offer.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call me on 0131 661 0581 or 07964 238446. I can also be reached by email.

Inner World and Outer World

How we relate to ourselves is how we relate to the world. A self awareness training that makes us feel more connected to self and more able to find our inner strengths, detachment and creativity, even in challenging and stressful times. This is an embodied practice using our senses (visual, auditory, body feeling and movement) to track our experiences. By tracking and valuing our inner worlds and landscapes we learn to engage with the outer world - nature, organisations and other humans.
